While I can't comment on the specifics of getting licensed in GA, I can give you some tips for new agents: Do not go to the cheapest place with a low grad rate. You should check the pass/fail rates at various schools, and if one is particularly higher than others, go there. So, about $1,400 and the ability to take 75 hours of education and pass a test. Figure another $500/year in MLS and local/state fees. Count on $500/yr for that (along with the GAR). Then it would appear you'll need to join NAR. This was through the Albany GA Assn of Realtors. I'm sure there's more and maybe less, trying to make money off you. You have to pay $249, and can pay up to $389. You must obtain a letter from that agency that verifies that the course work is approved in that state or province. Provide proof of completion of at least 75 hours of prelicense course work approved by the real estate regulatory agency of another state or province of Canada. AMP will notify you as to whether your coursework is acceptable OR Continuing education adult education, crash seminars, and special short courses are not acceptable.
